Correct storage and charging of e-bikes, scooters, and similar devices is really important:

They’ll only be allowed in our properties where they can be safely stored and charged without affecting the safe escape from the property in the case of fire.

If you want to own or store a mobility scooter, e-bike/scooter, or similar device you’ll need to obtain our permission first. You can get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Safely storing your e-bike, scooter, or other battery-powered device:

Before you purchase one of these devices, you must let us know so that we can check that there’s enough space to store it safely and ensure that you have the required insurance in place in line with our Mobility scooter, e-bike, and similar devices policy.

It shouldn’t block your fire escape route or cause obstruction to any visitors. If you store your device inside your home, it mustn’t pose a risk to yourself or others, for example, by blocking escape routes.

Safely charging and maintaining your e-bike, scooter, or other battery-powered device:

Charging should only be carried out during daytime hours and not overnight. These devices shouldn’t be left unattended while charging.

You must ensure that your device is serviced and maintained regularly and be able to show us evidence of this if requested.
