Could Careline support you or a loved one?
We help around 7,000 customers to live independently in their own home, whether they’re an owner occupier or a tenant. We offer a 24-hour, 365-day a year community alarm service.
Careline can provide help to people of all ages, people with disabilities or long term illnesses, those experiencing domestic abuse, or even if you just want extra reassurance.
With just one press of a button, you can call for help from the comfort of your home. Our friendly operators will see the personal details you’ve shared with us and talk to you to find out what you need. This could be:
- Calling your next of kin
- Contacting a doctor or an ambulance
- Sending one of our Careline responders to your home (available with Careline Levels 2 and 3)
- Or simply providing some friendly reassurance
How much does Careline cost?
We provide different levels of Careline service depending on your requirements.
Please note that Careline Levels 2 and 3 are only available to residents living in Bolton. We’d recommend checking if there are community alarm and/or Telecare providers in your area if you require a full service (not just monitoring/Level 1) outside of Bolton. Your local council may be able to provide guidance on your options.

The Careline wristband can help you feel safer when you're out and about, too:
Our Careline personal alert wristband gives you extra peace of mind when you’re on your own. It’s available to anyone of any age who wants to feel more secure while out and about.
If you ever feel unwell, have an accident, or simply need help, the wristband makes it easy for someone to assist you. It’s highly visible and includes the Careline telephone number and your unique customer ID so that one of our friendly team members will be able to help right away.
By quoting the ID number on your wristband, we can access the important details you’ve shared with us. This means we can:
- Let the ambulance crew know about any allergies, medical conditions or medication
- Contact your family or next of kin
- Share other information to make sure you get the right care quickly
The Careline wristband costs just £10 for registration and £10 per year for the service. These costs include registration and setup, the wristband itself, and an annual call to check that your details are correct.
For Careline customers experiencing domestic abuse – and in conjunction with other support services – we can supply a unit that doesn’t make a sound when dialled. We’ll also have notes on our system to ensure we’re able to respond to the situation accordingly.
Where a unit is installed for customers experiencing domestic abuse, we offer 24/7 monitoring only (Level 1). This means that our Careline team can’t attend to domestic abuse incidents in-person; however, they’ll respond by calling emergency services such as the police and will discreetly monitor and record the call for as long as necessary.
If you’re concerned for yourself or someone else, you can tap here for details on other local, regional, and national organisations that can provide support if you’re experiencing domestic abuse.
What is Careline Telecare equipment?
If you have a social care assessment and are identified with specific health needs you may be able to have additional equipment fitted to help you remain independent at home.
Each piece of Telecare equipment has a sensor that is remotely connected to the base unit and connects to your Careline unit. If a sensor detects a potential accident such as a fall or a bed sensor it alerts our Careline Team. Examples of Telecare equipment include:
- Smoke detectors
- Ambient temperature sensors
- Property exit sensors
- Medication dispensers
- Voice activation units
- Bed sensors
- Fall detectors
- Pressure mat sensors
- Epilepsy sensors
- Flood detectors
You can learn more about Careline Telecare equipment in our short video, or you can tap here to learn more about Telecare equipment on the Bolton Council website.
