Correct storage and charging of e-bikes, scooters, and similar devices is really important:

They’ll only be allowed in buildings where they can be safely stored and charged without affecting the safe escape from the property in the case of fire.

Before you get a new scooter, you must let us know so that we can check that there’s enough space to store it safely and ensure that you have the required insurance in place in line with our Mobility scooter, e-bike, and similar devices policy. You can get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

It shouldn’t block your fire escape route or cause obstruction to any residents or visitors.

Safely storing your e-bike, scooter, or other battery-powered device:

In some buildings, these devices can be stored inside your flat where access is available.

If you store your device outside a communal building, it must not cause a risk to any other residents or visitors, for example, by blocking fire escape routes.

Safely charging and maintaining your e-bike, scooter, or other battery-powered device:

Charging should only be carried out during daytime hours and not overnight. These devices shouldn’t be left unattended while charging.

You must ensure that your device is serviced and maintained regularly and be able to show us evidence of this if requested.
